RHS ATHLETIC HOF CEREMONY
For Patrick Pierson and Robert Robinson, the introductions to their respective inductions into the Richmond High School Athletic Hall of Fame were family affairs.
Pierson, a 1991 graduate, was introduced during the June 8 ceremony in the high school commons area by daughters and Paige and Lexi Pierson, and a statement from his sister Jill. Paige Pierson’s portion of the introduction included memories of father growing up.
“Despite our dad often leaving for work before sunrise, getting home … after we had gone to bed most nights, I can confidently say that our dad never missed anything important going on in our lives,” she said. “He coached our little league teams. He was a timer at all our swim meets. And he always made time to practice with us in the yard after getting home from a long day’s work.”
Robinson, a 1979 graduate, was introduced by his daughter, Lashonda Scott, who held her daughter Zariah, while at the podium. Her introduction included details about her father’s life…
