Richmond boys fall to Oak Grove in districts
OAK GROVE – When Richmond and Oak Grove faced off in varsity boys basketball during the regular season, they took each other to overtime.
Not so in the postseason. Sparked by a 9-2 opening run, Oak Grove cruised to a 62-44 Class 4 District 15 Tournament victory Feb. 29 at Oak Grove High School, ending Richmond’s season at 16-10 – the Spartans’ eighth straight winning season.
It was the third meeting between the Spartans and Panthers this season. Oak Grove won the first meeting 70-67 in overtime in November 2023 at Oak Grove. Richmond won the second 49-48 in double overtime in December at the Husker Classic at Higginsville.
