Milestones reached; seniors honored during Richmond-Carrollton hoops doubleheader
A plateau was reached, a streak continued and a record fell on Feb. 17 at Richmond High School.
With a 104-45 trouncing of Carrollton to cap a varsity girls-boys basketball Senior Night doubleheader, Kevin Jermain reached win No. 300 as the Richmond boys coach, the high school stated on its Twitter page. The Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC) East Division rout also gave the Spartans their 20th victory this season – the program’s fourth straight season of posting 20 or more victories, Missouri State High School Activities Association records state.
Jermain attributed his 300th victory to the program having “had a lot of really good players.”
“Really good players help you win games and that’s what it’s all about,” he said Tuesday night.
The high school also tweeted that, in pouring in 55 points to lead all scorers, Richmond senior Jack Gogue set a school record for most points in any basketball game. The old record was 50, set in 2016 by Kaylee Vantrump – now Richmond’s…
