Local principal deems Field Day a success
With fun games and tugo- war rope, Dear Elementary students were ready to participate in Field Day events.
Students, staff and parents showed their support during the showdown, which included games such as obstacle courses, bean bag races, soccer relay, corn hole and more.
“I am very pleased with how it went and I think we had the best weather. We were able to have enough volunteers with parents and high school students. I think the kids had an amazing day and my staff enjoyed it as well,” said Dear Elementary Principal Dr. Marlaine Boyd. “The student’s excitement for Field Day is infectious.”
As the day ended, the activities ceased and classes were brought outside for the tug-o-war showdown. After screaming, pulling, losses and wins – the winners for preschool, kindergarten and first grade were Denise Livingstone’s Lions, Corissa Hamilton’s Heros and Grace Jones’ Jaguars, Boyd said.
