Latest Richmond golf season is farewell for coach
Murray Dennis finds himself in new territory in his final season of coaching Richmond prep golf, which began last week with a tournament and a triangular.
Dennis, who’ll retire in a few months, has three siblings in the last Richmond program he’ll lead – Kail, Bryer and Brody Farnan. It’s “awesome” coaching three brothers, he said April 8 in the Shirkey Golf Course clubhouse.
“I know they’ve played the game, they like the game, they work at the game,” Dennis said. “From a selfish standpoint, it’s going to make us better.”
Like Dennis, this will be Kail Farnan’s last season at Richmond. He’ll graduate in May. As the Richmond News reported March 8, he’ll attend Avila University in Kansas City, where he’ll also play football.
For his farewell tour, the eldest of the three Farnans simply wants to play well, he said.
Like his older brother, Bryer Farnan wants to play well. Specifically, the junior wants consistency in his game and to remain calm during pressure situations, he said.
