RCC talks member involvement
Member involvement was the main topic of discussion during the recent Ray County Coalition (RCC) meeting, especially since the group was forced to cancel its booth at the Richmond Mushroom Festival due to inadequate membership participation.
A coalition check-up with
Dan Schmidt, a research project manager with Inner City Fund, addressed several topics, including member involvement.
Schmidt said he began a process called “Coalition Check-Up” a few years back, with the purpose of improving the technical assistance provided to drug prevention coalitions across the country. He is currently working with 68 coalitions between Pennsylvania and Missouri. “It is to bring a scientific approach to coalitions. I’m familiar with the state and with the data – what I’m not familiar with is the local essence of Ray County,” he said.
